VALENTINE'S DAY GIFTS FOR 2010: FLOWERS

There is nothing quite like getting flowers, you just can't help smiling! Flowers can brighten up the worst of days! Especially the right flowers... because weird colored plain old daisy-like flowers just won't do anymore!! Also news flash, but roses are so outdated! Maybe you can get away with roses on Valentine's Day, but be creative! Do pink, white and red roses or all different kinds of roses (instead of 24 red roses).

When it comes to flowers, no matter what occasion, I ALWAYS prefer exotic or hand picked (wild flowers). Try hydrangeas for exotic flowers, or go with something you've never heard of before but find beautiful and interesting.

With wildflowers I love messy bouquets with little white, lavender, pink and baby blue flowers. Or even Sunflowers, they are so happy, how could you not smile around sunflowers?

Another idea is the potted plant... I love this one too because it lasts sooo much longer than the bouquet! You get to watch it grow and care for it... it's a much greater bond than those 24 roses mentioned earlier! Plus you can make your own pot to plant it in! Just buy a plain pot and paint it with whatever design you like! Or find yourself a beautiful designer pot! As far as potted goes Orchids are BY FAR the best choice!
